There are several different scroll saw styles, which include:

Fretwork - ornamental woodwork designs made by cutting holes in a piece of wood to create an intricate pattern

Intarsia -– a mosaic of a variety of wood that is fitted, glued and shaped to create a multi-dimensional project

Segmentation - the division of  a piece of wood into segments to form a picture

Compound Cut - a technique of cutting a pattern from 2 sides of a block of wood.

Bowls/Boxes  - the art of cutting and stacking wood to create a box or bowl. 

Double Bevel Inlay - two pieces of wood are cut simultaneously at a slight angle, so that the pieces will fit together flawlessly.

Marquetry - the art of fitting pieces of veneer to form a picture
